For Mykah Montgomery, achieving her dreams is all about envisioning her life with the intention of manifesting them into reality. Her drive, passion and commitment to community advocacy is a direct reflection of the awards and honors she has received for her community work, specifically in children’s literacy and anti-bullying. She was recently named Alumna of the Year and was honored for her service to the community at The Saint Mary's 2021 Distinguished Alumni Awards.
She is author of The Little Girl Who Wanted a Tail, Isaiah Wants to Read, andTwinzies; books that promote a love for self and others, a love for reading, and entrepreneurship for children. She is the Founder of and is the recipient of the Jefferson Award for Public Service in recognition of Leaders are Readers’ literacy advocacy efforts.
Mykah is a recording artist and Founder of Mylaan Entertainment, a company dedicated to producing, writing, and sharing musical and literary works that promote love. The granddaughter of the late renowned jazz pianist and vibraphonist Buddy Montgomery and grandniece of legendary jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery and bassist Monk Montgomery, she has been singing since she could talk.
