LEAP Commencement
To be eligible for graduation ceremonies and celebrations, LEAP students must have:
- Completed all Core Courses*
- Completed all transfer/elective units*
- Completed all PLA units
- Essays and/or certificate packets must be submitted by April 1, 2025
*Exceptions can be made for students who are actively enrolled in their final Core or elective in Summer 2025

A Zoom link will be sent out through our spring newsletter in April*. Everyone in the LEAP community, past and present, is invited to attend. Please feel free to share the link with friends and family!

March With Us:
The 2025 On-Campus Commencement Ceremony for Graduate and Professional Studies programs is scheduled for Sunday, May 25, with the procession beginning at 9am.
Graduate, Credential, and Professional Studies Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 9 a.m. We ask that graduates arrive two hours prior to the start time (7 a.m.) in preparation for the event. We recommend you inform your guests to expect traffic and allow time to secure parking. The event will also be live-streamed and recorded for guests who are unable to attend the event in person.
Order your cap and gown:
This is required to participate in the on-campus ceremony. LEAP students should order the undergraduate/bachelor's regalia. Orders can be placed online beginning March 6 and must be ordered no later than April 19.
Getting to campus:
LEAP students traditionally meet in front of the chapel an hour in advance of the ceremony (8am) for pictures and a chance to connect with other students and faculty.

Requirements to participate on-campus include:
- Successful completion of all required coursework for the degree
- Submission of Commencement Application (found in your GaelXpress)
- Correct address on file with the college (you can update this by filling out a Change of Address form)
- Cap and gown order placed
- Choose "Graduation Products"
- Choose "Graduation Cap and Gowns"
- Choose "Student Required Regalia"
- Choose "Bachelor's Cap, Gown, Hood, Tassel"
- Continue to check your email monthly beginning January for our "March to Commencement" newsletter and stay informed!
Travel Tips:
For those of you traveling from out of the area, you'll want to look for hotels or Airbnb locations that are in Orinda, Moraga, Lafayette, or Walnut Creek for easiest access to campus. Saint Mary's College is located closest to Oakland International Airport, and the closest BART stations are in Orinda and Lafayette.
