Resident Teacher Program Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A Resident Teacher is a credential student who has been accepted into a Resident Teacher program with one of our partner districts. Resident Teachers are required to complete all the coursework for the Teacher preparation program at Saint Mary’s College. They will complete their field placement at their partner district. Resident Teachers earn a grant funded living stipend through the district.

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Resident Teachers will be placed in a classroom with a mentor teacher. Mondays and Fridays will be open for work as paid subs.

The stipend can be put towards living expenses during your time in the program.
