As part of the Black History Month Breaking Bread series, join the Intercultural Center and Student Activities & Engagement for an interactive activity designed to connect with your family history and understand the strength passed down through generations.
In "Roots of Resilience," we will create family trees, exploring the legacy of our ancestors and reflecting on how resilience shows up in our family stories. The session will highlight the significance of knowing one's roots and the historical context of Black families' experiences.
After the activity, we will come together to share stories and reflect on how our family histories shape our identities. To enrich the experience, we will enjoy a meal from Lois the Pie Queen, a local Black-owned restaurant, celebrating the rich cultural flavors that reflect the strength and traditions of the Black community. Come for the meaningful conversation and stay for the delicious food!
