INTERIM DEAN OF THE CORE

Steve Miller has been a faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology since 1997. After earning a B.A degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado and a M.A. in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas, he received his doctoral degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport & Exercise Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. Having come to Saint Mary’s College because of the strong LaSallaian, Catholic, and Liberal Arts traditions coupled with the wonderful vibrant learning community, Steve continues to enjoy teaching in the Department of Kinesiology, has been a regular contributor to the Collegiate Seminar and January Term programs, and also serves as a sport psychology consultant to the Department of Athletics.

After being appointed as the Chair of the Core Curriculum Committee (CCC), Steve now serves as the Dean of the Core. From 2018-2020, he led the CCC in its initial Program Review of the Core Curriculum, and will oversee changes to the Core in 2021-22.
