Saint Mary’s Sustainability Committee leads institutional efforts to advance sustainability on campus and beyond. The campus-wide committee reviews, recommends and facilitates the implementation of policies and programs that advance sustainability and environmental justice across Saint Mary’s, through education, research, community engagement and campus operations.

Campus as a Living Lab

Saint Mary’s uses its campus as a living laboratory for piloting sustainable food systems, transportation, waste diversion, energy and water conservation, responsible purchasing policies and building planning.

Get Involved!

Students, staff and faculty can take advantage of numerous programs and initiatives offered by Saint Mary's Sustainability, mostly through the help of our engaged and passionate Sustainability Student Leaders. Throughout the year, these students certify Green Spaces, generate and implement sustainable food practices in Oliver Hall and beyond, reduce waste, manage our ever-popular and expanding Free Store, create inspiring social media content and educational materials, foster an inclusive Sustainability Living Learning Community, and lead our Green Gaels student club and Climate Reality Project.
